Havana Cannon Shot

Havana Cannon Shot

La Habana is an interesting and charming city with many places to be discovered.

At 9 O’clock pm part of the old Havana is shaken by the sound of cannon fired from the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña. The ceremony is carried on by a squad of soldiers dressed in red and yellow-gold of the Spanish colonial army. They march towards the cannon, load it with gunpowder and light that the fuse. This beautiful and historical ceremony takes place everyday now in front of lots of tourists. However, it was an actual military procedure to announce the opening and closing of the wall gates.
